Attorneys
Our firm's practice model rests on the expectation that all our attorneys will quickly gain substantial litigation and transactional experience and make significant contributions to the firm's practice. Our goal is for all our attorneys to enjoy their professional life, have time for their families and personal interests, and earn a rewarding income.

Rather than a year-by-year seniority system, we have three levels of associates: Associate, Senior Associate, and Counsel. The promotion from Associate to Senior Associate and from Senior Associate to Counsel depends on attaining skills and experience, rather than merely time in grade. We generally expect the promotion to Senior Associate to take place after two years and the promotion to Counsel to take place after five years, but there is no set schedule and a promotion could happen faster. We generally expect to consider associates for partnership after seven years, but there is no set schedule and elevation to partner could happen earlier. Partnership decisions are at the discretion of the firm.

Our philosophy is to maintain base compensation at a level that meets or exceeds the base compensation for associates working in New York at leading firms and to provide generous bonuses based on overall firm profitability. Our philosophy is to provide benefits that are comparable to or exceed the benefits at other leading Delaware firms.

Paralegals and Other Professionals
We believe that paralegals and other professionals are a key part of our practice team, and we strive to avoid any semblance of the traditional law firm caste system that relegates paralegals and other professionals to a less valued role. Our paralegals and professionals are expected to be able to accomplish tasks independently using their judgment and experience. As with our attorneys, our goal is for our professional staff to enjoy a challenging work experience, have time for their families and personal interests, and earn a rewarding income.
